So, it has been proven that my new baby Adélaïde is indeed beyond spoiled. But it is not all bad, she has earned being over-indulged due to her good behaviour and high learning curve. Of course, none of this should come as a surprise. After all, she is a toy poodle and the Poodle is only the second most intelligent breed in the world. Temper-wise, she is a little odd. Actually, a lot of things of her seem to be a little out-of-character. For example, my little Gisèle and even my mum’s poodles did not like being outside for too long. They loved being indoors and did not require to be outside playing or even going for short walks. This brat, however, needs to go outside to do more than just use the toilet. She must play in the garden and run circles at least four times to be happy. You would think that giving her a nice garden would have been more than enough for her. But no, she also wants you to walk her, and she is perfectly fine with going over the recommended amount for her size. It is as she does not even know the meaning of the word "tired" or "exhaustion".
I do like that she is overall calm and does not bite or acts like a complete maniac towards other humans. However, she does like to bark at everything and anything. In this way, it makes me miss my little Gisèle even more. Now that little girl was the perfect baby. She acted like a socialite should act. Adélaïde is not as loud as most other toy poodles are, she is as or even more clingy for her breed. I blame her father, he is always giving her all the food she wants, never reprimanding or chastising her for her bad behaviour or deeds. I ask him to at least yell at her for leaving her food all over the place, and instead, he grabs her, kisses her and sweet-talks her.
At the end of the day, I am more than happy she is my baby. I fell in love with her the moment I saw her and fell even more in love as I learned that she was a very obedient and fast learning smart toy poodle. Now, here is to hoping that her future husband is the same way, or better. A girl can hope!
